Is there a more 80s word than "Turbo"? It seems so many cars then were turbocharged, especially in Japan. This Daihatsu Mira is one of those. I bought this kit to expand the range of Kei cars I'd built, and it has very period wheels.
Being mostly snap-fit, there are no fitment problems. There is a choice of standard or aero kit in the box and choice of 5 different steering wheels. The door mirror mountings are nice and solid, they won't break off easy as many kits would.
Being mostly snap-fit, there's not a lot of detail. The chassis comprises one floor pan, two exhaust tips and two metal axles and nothing else. Interior is similarly spartan especially the door cards. The snap-fit pegs in the headlamps are very visible after assembly. The red "Turbo" decals do not show up on the black background as they do on the real car.
Neither good or bad. An easy beginner kit.
Two tone Tamiya black and Italian red, over Tamiya grey primer. No extra details added but it did come up to a good shine - too much in a few areas where I polished through it. I wasn't sufficiently into the build to go for a repaint.
