Only Toyota this year realised that as needful as eco-friendly cars are, not everyone gets excited only by cars with a plug. So they give us the mighty Lexus LF-A and the nimble looking Toyota FT-86, which I very much hope will become the next Celica. Other cars I found of interest were Daihatsu's two offerings, the Daihatsu Basket and the Daihatsu Decadeca, both of which are neat looking solutions to narrowly defined vehicle briefs. The former a family jeep-lite, the latter some sort of mobile workstation. The Lotus Evora is beautiful, whilst the Nissan Leaf has some great battery technology but looks like a design that was too boring/ugly for even Peugeot. The blue transparent Lexus LF-A was made of some sort of plastic. Not ice, or glass, as it might appear.
My favourite image from the show was this one, which accuratley shows what happened every time Motor Show girl(s) appeared on a stand next to a vehicle. There are more motor show girl pictures here. Click on a thumbnail to enlarge any image.
